In alignment with global efforts toward sustainable development, Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Limited (MJTD) has introduced a solar photovoltaic (PV) initiative within the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (TSEZ). This project reflects MTSH’s ongoing commitment to promoting renewable energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels in industrial operations.
As of 2025, the solar power system has achieved an installed capacity of 3,861 kWp, with an estimated annual generation of 5,157,450 kWh. This marks a significant step forward in enhancing the Zone’s energy efficiency and environmental performance.
Looking ahead, MJTD is preparing for a further expansion of 3.5 MW, reinforcing its long-term objective to reach a total installed capacity of 15 MW. This initiative underscores our vision to integrate sustainability into every facet of development within the Thilawa SEZ.

Thilawa Property Development Limited (TPD) is implementing a 3.3 MWp Solar Power Generation and Distribution Project within Thilawa Garden City, situated in the Residential and Commercial (R&C) area of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (TSEZ). This initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing the sustainability and energy resilience of the Zone.
The project’s core objective is to supply renewable energy to the TSEZ, thereby contributing to Myanmar’s broader electricity network. Designed to provide a cost-effective and stable power source directly to the Zone’s developer, the system strengthens both the capacity and reliability of the power grid—ensuring consistent energy access for all tenants and stakeholders.
Beyond its functional benefits, the project underscores TPD’s commitment to sustainability through the adoption of clean, renewable energy and the reduction of reliance on conventional power sources. By advancing this initiative, TPD is not only moving toward energy self-sufficiency but also aligning with its long-term net-zero environmental goals.
Thilawa Property Development Limited (TPD) is advancing the MSME Commercial Hub Project, designed to foster the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (TSEZ). This initiative supports the development of businesses that are too small to operate in the industrial area of the SEZ while strengthening the broader ecosystem of local enterprises.
The project aims to integrate MSMEs as supporting industries for larger manufacturers within the SEZ, promoting synergies between small-scale enterprises and established industrial operations. In doing so, the MSME Commercial Hub contributes to the overall development of the local MSME sector, encouraging entrepreneurship and business growth.
The project emphasizes ease of doing business and provides incentives for MSMEs, ensuring a conducive environment for investment and operational efficiency. The hub will comprise three types of buildings—Showrooms, Offices, and Warehouses—designed to accommodate the SEZ Management Committee to obtain investment permission in accordance with the rules and regulations stipulated under the SEZ Law.
